Here's the website: http://markup.io/
We created MarkUp at Medium to help make the QA process better for sites we're working on. Grab the MarkUp bookmarklet, go to some page in your browser, then click it to draw on the page. Publish to make a link you can share.
We've tried similar tools like BounceApp, Notable, and Skitch. Everything else we found is screenshot-based or takes us out of the browser. We wanted something that felt quicker than screenshots and more integrated with the browsing experience.
Instead of taking a screenshot, MarkUp snapshots the DOM in the current page, strips the javascript, and overlays a transparent DIV to draw on. We used Raphael for the drawing tools. The server-side is Node.js/Express.
What do you think? It's in beta and we'll be adding more features, but we wanted to start getting feedback now.
Thanks

This is awesome. We use diigo right now for tagging pages and sharing them but it is pretty weak. The ability to login & keep a history of your markups to share with others in your group would be tops.

I am surprised at how useful what a seemingly superfluous feature is on the iPhone. I often find myself grabbing screenshots of things and sending it to friends, Twitter and Facebook. My location on a map. An amusing article I just saw. An SMS conversation. It's not obvious, but once you know how to do it, it's very handy and I'm surprised it's so difficult with Android.

I love screenshots from the iPad maps application imported into SketchBook or some other drawing app. Very useful for whipping up driving directions to forward to a friend.

But the best part of Aviary’s extension is that it doesn’t slow down Chrome. While the actual Aviary editor takes up some of your CPU, the extension itself ads no bloat to the regular browsing experience. I actually have three extension installed right now and none are slowing Chrome (Chromium) at all. This gives me great hope.A few notes about Aviary’s plug-in: First, it’s not available yet only because Google has yet to launch its Extension Gallery. Supposedly, that’s coming soon for end-users but for now extension support is limited to developers being able to upload

It is estimated that Macromedia Flash Player is installed in more than 90% of the PCs. Using Wink you can create content viewable across the web in all these users' desktops. Similar applications sell for hundreds of dollars, while Wink is free with unrivaled features. So spread the word about Wink to your friends.
