  • So, it’s back to blogging…a social media tool that I can manage on my own terms.
  • Blogging is social.  And you don't have to give up your rights to some company that wants to monetize it.  Now, if only there were better discovery tools for blogs.

  • Children far removed from the game benefit as well, thanks to a partnership developed in 1994 between the NFL and the relief organization World Vision. By next week, World Vision will have delivered the pre-printed - and incorrect - Patriots champion gear to underprivileged children in Nicaragua.

    Last year, the league donated Chicago Bears merchandise to children in Zambia after the Bears lost to the Indianapolis Colts, according to World Vision spokeswoman Anne Duffy.

  • This is a gracious gesture by the NFL. And that they do it without any fanfare speaks well for them.

  • Several writers and historians remarked on the psychological impact of such a jarring end to the Pax Americana, just as it seemed that victory in the cold war might usher in prolonged prosperity and relative peace (save the occasional mop-up operation). Its confluence with an era of unparalleled technological innovation had only heightened the nation's sense of post-millennial possibility.
  • I certainly haven't been feeling this impending sense of doom.  Nor the collapse of the American psyche as our reign over the world comes crumbling down around our heads.  I think this piece may be veering into a bit of sensationalism.  Just a little.
