An ingenious means of allowing children to express their creative side while enjoying their creativity in real time on stage was developed by Chris O'Shea. Children may find that they are limited in their abilities to express themselves creatively by either writing or drawing. Chris' custom built projection system using Kinect allows children to draw out characters or objects and dynamically interact with them in real-time on a stage.

Using a game controller to interact with real-world objects is definitely spooky. You push around a glorified pencil to "feel" the contours of a hand resting on a faraway table. And if that faraway hand moves, you'll feel an unseen force push back. SenseCast is conceived as an open-source, Kinect-enabled digital-out-of-home display that brings news and public information into shared public spaces in a way that reaches out and grabs you. Navigating the web is only one application of the framework we built - that is, we envision all sorts of applications that run in the browser, from games to specific utilities for specific sites. The great part is that now web developers who specialize in Javascript can work with the Kinect without having to learn any special languages or code. We believe this will allow a new set of interactions beyond what we first developed.
