I don't know for sure. Have downloaded these files just recently and did not check before the update!

You can also put the subtitles into the mkv container as well. That is the way the container was designed - to hold all the streams in one file. It took me a bit to realise the subtitile menu key on the PlayOn!HD is not cyclical but a simple sliding menu.

Select subtitle, hit Enter, and pressing down selects off.
Pressing up selects sub 1,
Pressing up again selects sub 2,
etc.

Hit Enter to keep selection,
And Exit or Subtitile to exit the submenu.


Subtitles can be added easily by using TSMuxer or MkvToolnix. Dragging the original file (mkv) into the input window on each will show the current audio, video, and subtitle streams in the container. Just click add, and select the new subtitle stream(s) and then you can re-envelop them inside by clicking the mux button. Very easy to do and quick - coouple minutes for my computer to remux a movie.

MkvToolnix will mux to mkv but TSMuxer will only mux to .m2ts and AVCHD (and some other none supported container formats). Both will demux.

I have downgraded to previous RC firmware and it is "OK" except that sometimes player hangs when playing network file then led turns red and nothing more happens, I need to plug out the player and pray that it starts again...

it is not the feature that is removed just the icon in the mainmenu.
there is a button on you remote wich says "copy" and one named "setup"it is the same function.
just press it and you will see.

unicgi option/support is removed in latest firmware since you can place a torrent file on your playon!hd and load it from there.

No sorrie you have to downgrade to R1402 and only that one wil make your hdd back in order.
(after removing the partitions and make one big partition then formating it to ntfs or fat32 try also
to activate the partition after format in windows)
then downgrade to R1402 and format it again in the playon and after format it asks to install the samba btpd and unicgi you do that.

then all the other steps in th How To.


then after that you can upgrade to R1757 and you should be able to use the hdd again.

So you have to do it again.
to the letter.
and do not downgrade to R1757 but to r1402.(this will also install Samba Btpd and unicgi)

then I said instead of upgrading to r2388 you may also use r1757 if you preffer that more.

Vandaag m'n POHD binnengekregen.
Het probleemp(je) wat ik heb is dat tijdens het afspelen van een film er geen ondertiteling verschijnt.
Als ik de toets " Subtitles " van de afstandsbediening indruk dan blijkt dat de subtitle uit staat en ik dus ook geen details b.v. titelgrootte kan instellen.
Dit is vreemd want als ik naar het set-up menu ga vervolgens System kies en dan naarText encoding dan staat dat ingesteld op uinicode. Kortom mijn vraag is waar in het apparaat kan ik de Subtitel's aan en uit zetten..

Hoi,

Ik heb van de week ook mijn firmware geupdated, maar heb nog steeds hetzelfde probleem:
Ik kan mijn shares op mijn PC niet (meer) zien.

Wat ben ik wel tegen gekomen:
- Mijn PC kan ik wel vinden via browser (domain en PC).
- Na de firmware update kan ik automatisch inloggen op mijn PC (melding: login gelukt), maar zie ik mijn gedeelde mappen niet meer.
- als ik een nieuwe map deel, dan zie ik deze ook niet.
- Helemaal vreemd: toen ik mijn password had veranderd voor login op mijn PC, kon ik nog steeds automatisch inloggen via AC Ryan op mijn PC, met de melding "login gelukt". Dat kan natuurlijk nooit.
- Als ik via shortcuts een nieuwe verbinding maak naar mijn PC, dan zie ik nog steeds mijn gedeelde mappen niet.

Wie heeft de oplossing?

After the upgrade v7.06.r2388 I could not access my Shared folders of my previous "Shortcutted" PC. Every time I selected the PC it stated "logon succesfull" however without displaying the folders shared. New PC's could be accessed as advertised.

I have found the following "workaround":

Turn on the Playon!HD
Goto network and select your workgroup. All PC's should be visible.
Temporary rename your PC to "whatever", to accept reboot.
Select the öriginal name of your PC at the Playon!HD. It will request your credentials. STOP
Rename your PC to the "Original" "Computer Name" and reboot.
Fill in the required credentials for your shared folders. Save to your shortcuts.

The shared folders are visible by using the "shortcut" however not by acessing the PC though the "workgroup". I guess that the Playon!HD doesn't "forget" something during the upgrade.

Would be nice to know how to clear the History
