推而广之,其实“民意”与“才士”同,只有不受束缚,这样的社会方才当得起盛世之名。

With continued turmoil in the advertising market, people who work at newspapers and magazines are wondering if micropayments will save them, with recent speculation in this direction by David Sarno of the LA Times, David Carr of the NY Times, and Walter Isaacson in Time magazine. Unfortunately for the optimists, micropayments — small payments made by readers for individual articles or other pieces of a la carte content — won’t work for online journalism.

So apparently the controversies in international media this summer over China and the Olympics came as a bit of a shock to the Chinese people. While the government's retained tight control over its own media, it's been less able to harmonize those pesky news outlets abroad. Not one to take perceived insults to its national image lying down, Beijing is now throwing RMB 45 billion into targeting global audiences.

欧美拟就中国限制外国传媒向世贸组织申诉

欧盟(EU)和美国拟就中国试图将外国新闻提供商的金融信息业务置于其中国竞争对手及监管者新华社(Xinhua)控制之下一事,向世界贸易组织(WTO)提起正式申诉。

不过,新华社2006年颁布的规定还禁止路透社和彭博等向非媒体客户销售金融信息的机构直接发展中国客户,实际上是要求这些外国机构必须经过新华社的分支机构。
