Twitter doesn’t do that. It doesn’t give a writer the space to really flesh out an idea. It doesn’t force you to think too much. You don’t have to be clear. It doesn’t give a reader anything for them to grasp onto beyond a single thought that likely requires more explanation. Twitter wasn’t meant to do that. On Twitter you’re a faint voice among thousands when you try to use it as a user-generated content platform. Twitter is excellent at conversation, personal engagement, and cultural trends, but it stinks at well-developed ideas. Unfortunately some good bloggers are choosing to allow Twitter to replace their blogging. Please don’t do this if you’re a blogger. You’ll regret it.

这周四的时候，北京律师刘晓原的博客 赢得德国之声年度最佳中文博客 这一荣誉。而在周五的时候，他发现他在搜狐网站的镜像博客 被封了。幸运的是，作为一个知名的博客，他可以叫搜狐的编辑帮忙恢复他在搜狐的博客，然而编辑不会向他解释这其中到底发生了怎么一回事。具有讽刺意味的是，在华尔街日报对他的采访 中，刘晓原刚刚还赞扬了搜狐，称跟他使用的其他博客平台来比，搜狐的審查相对而言更为体贴：

In my blocked blog, I was analysing the technical details of the system. When the system automatically detected this content, my blog was unplugged the next day. I had to suspend blogging for about 80 days, until I moved my site to a host service abroad.

在版权方面，维基百科全部文字内容采用GFDL授权，属于严格意义上的copyleft，所谓病毒式授权。而Knol虽然默认的授权方式是cc-by（比GFDL更加宽松，就像BSD之于GPL），但是还有cc-by-nc（非商业使用）和版权所有二者可供作者选择，而且作者可以随时修改授权协议，这对于他人对作品的使用来说存在一定的风险（当然在中国可以忽略不计）。最奇怪的是，Knol不给出cc-by-sa的协议选项（类似GFDL），不知道葫芦里卖的什么药？而百度百科则是一个揣着明白装糊涂的版权声明，所有的内容都可以为他所用，但是别人不能用他的东西。

公民社会自苏联崩解后才逐渐成形，仍不时受到政府强烈压力，尤其是2005年安集延事件之后，国际社会对乌兹别克斯坦实施制裁，也让公民社会情势更加艰困。乌国政府完全掌控国内主流媒体，虽然卡里莫夫在公开演说中赞扬民主价值，但国家其实毫无言论自由，不过今日透过博客等新媒体，人民的声音逐渐突破禁锢。
