Walkingworld - Gargrave - Calton - Winterburn - Eshton
Starting at the famous Dalesman Café in the pleasant little Pennine town of Gargrave, we follow the Pennine Way north and soon enter the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Pennine Way here is low-lying and any climbs there are, are brief and not too steep. Pretty pasture land is crossed before reaching the bubbling River Aire, whose banks we follow up to Airton, where we reluctantly leave it and the Pennine Way, behind.
Another short climb takes us up to the little hamlet of Calton, before we cross more pretty pasture, bringing us back to Winterburn. After a short stretch along a quiet country lane, we drop back over to Gargrave, before the last kilometre along the banks of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
