-
Alright, so here’s my final prediction for the Presidential elections. None of my state-by-state predictions from last time changed, other than a percentages or for 2 states (Indiana and Montana).

4 Days to Go: My Presidential Election Prediction: Obama 291, McCain 247 « Republican Ranting
-
Alright, so last Tuesday, I did a prediction for the Presidential election, predicting an Obama with victory of 286-252, and said I’d update it this Tuesday. Well, I got a little busy, but here’s my updated prediction.

Effigy of Sarah Palin Hanging by a Noose is Despicable, but Legal « Republican Ranting
-
I’ve seen some pretty weird Halloween decorations before, but this one probably tops them all. In West Hollywood, California, Chad Michael Morisette has put up an effigy of Sarah Palin hanging by a noose with John McCain up on the chimeny with flames coming out of it (as well as skeletons and spider webs on other areas of the house).

It’s All Tied Up in Michigan’s 9th Congressional District! « Republican Ranting
-
A poll that came out from Mitchell Research & Communications (done earlier in October) shows that the race for Michigan’s 9th Congressional district is all tied up at 43% each, which leaves 14% for undecideds and other candidates (who’ll probably get around 4-5%). So that leaves around 10% still up for grabs.
MoveOn.Org Launches Get Out the Vote Ad About Your Vote Counting « Republican Ranting

So, today I got an e-mail from MoveOn.org (I signed up for their mailing list months ago for some reason - I don’t even remember why), and they sent me a link to this video: Obama’s Loss Traced To….

Michigan Restaurant Offers Free Pizza for McCain Signs « Republican Ranting
-
Alright, so you have Salvatore’s Pizzeria (Warren, Michigan) who’s offering free pizza to people who bring in yard signs. Diana, the owner claims that she just wants people to turn in their signs since McCain left the state. OK, people aren’t going to do that. Honestly though, if I worked for the Republican party, I’d be doing that as a means to get food for my campaign headquarters.
2 Weeks Away: My Prediction for the Presidential Election: Obama 286, McCain 252 « Republican Ranting
-
Alright, I’ve decided that I’m going to do a prediction at least each Tuesday before the election (and then a final one on Monday the 3rd). Here’s my prediction as of now. The first map will be a prediction of the percentage points, and the second map will be my confidence in who will win that state. Now, I know that my map has Obama lower than a lot of the maps circulating right now, but here’s why.

Evidence that Some Blacks Are Not Voting for Obama Based on Issues « Republican Ranting
-
So, a friend sent me a link to a clip from the Howard Stern show from last Sunday, and I put it into a video (as well as typed up a transcript which is below the video). It’s one of Stern’s radio people, Sal, who goes into Harlem and interviews 3 black people and attributes McCain’s stances to Obama. They say that they agree with those stances (thinking that they are Obama’s).
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell Endorses Obama « Republican Ranting
-
Well, this is a blog post I did NOT expect to be writing. General Powell had made it clear before that he would not be endorsing anybody in this election, so I’m surprised that he has come out and actually made an endorsement. He is endorsing Senator Obama, but he stressed that this is more for reasons dealing with the economy, and the Supreme Court and the general direction of the Republican party rather than Iraq. He noted that he still opposes a set date to withdraw from Iraq.

Obama Lies About Cutting 95% of Americans’ Taxes « Republican Ranting

In the last few debates, Obama has stressed that he will cut taxes for 95% of Americans. Here’s a quote from the first debate, courtesy of CNN:

Barack Obama Will Not Pull Out of Iraq Within 16 Months « Republican Ranting
-
It amazes me how many people are under this illusion that Senator Obama will pull our troops out of Iraq within 16 months of assuming office. Why do I doubt that he’ll actually pull out within 16 months?

A Plea to All Michigan Voters (And Any Other Voters, Really) « Republican Ranting
-
Folks, I’m going to be straight with you here. I think we all know that it’s going to take a miracle for McCain to win Michigan (I won’t say it’s impossible - I’ve learned my lesson once before).

The Video of the Obama “Sing for Change” Kids Is Creepy and Disturbing « Republican Ranting
-
So, I saw on the news last night, the following video of a group of kids singing an Obama song, under the direction of Kathy Sawada, a music teacher (just a note - this video was not done through any official school organization or anything like that. I included her occupation just for background):

34% Say Tonight’s Debate is Very Important in Deciding Who to Vote For « Republican Ranting
-
A new Rasmussen Reports poll came out today, asking questions about tonight’s debate, ranging from who will perform better to how important the debate is in deciding who to vote for. The poll was conducted of 1,000 voters and has a Margin of Error of +/- 3%:

Obama’s “I’ve Got a Bracelet Too” Comment Was Disrespectful to Troops « Republican Ranting
-
Now, first, I know that me putting the stuttering in there looks kinda bad, but I have a point to that. The part that struck me most offensive was the “Let me just make a point: I’ve got a bracelet too.” It came across as Obama saying something like, “Oh yeah, well I’ve got…” And my (liberal) roommate agreed with me - he found that part as a bad statement from Obama (and again, thanks to my roommate for all he’s helped me with on the blog - especially during the debate, when I couldn’t keep up with typing as fast as they were talking).

McCain Will Participate in Tonight’s Debate « Republican Ranting
-
Well, I was just about to publish a post about the fate of tonight’s debate not being known when news broke from the McCain campaign that McCain will in fact participate in tonight’s debate. I think this may look bad since it’ll seem like he’s reneging on his promise to suspend his campaign to resolve the economic crisis. We’ll see if Obama plays that card or not. Hopefully the Senate will pass the bill (but a good bill, not the bailout that many want) before the debate, not just for McCain’s sake, but for the sake of the country. The following is my original post:

Did Barack Obama’s “Lipstick on a Pig” Comment Refer to Sarah Palin? « Republican Ranting
-
OK, so I’m sure that many of you have heard accusations that Barack Obama said the phrase “lipstick on a pig,” referring to Sarah Palin. Let’s put that phrase into context. This is from an Obama speech in Virginia on Tuesday:

Ron Paul Will Be on the Ballot for President in Montana « Republican Ranting
-
The Constitution Party of Montana, which broke off from the national party back in 2006, decided not to stick with the national party’s nominee (Chuck Baldwin for President/Darrell Castle for VP), but rather nominate Ron Paul for President, and 2000 Constitution Party nominee, Michael Perutka, for Vice President.

Obama and Biden Voted Against Funding for Rebuilding After Katrina, But Supported Bridge to Nowhere Funding « Republican Ranting

So, I found something interesting today. Back in 2005, Congress voted on and passed H.R. 3058 [109th Congress]: “Transportation, Treasury, Housing and Urban Development, the Judiciary, the District of Columbia,…”. This purpose of this bill was for “Making appropriations for the Departments of Transportation, Treasury, and Housing and Urban Development, the Judiciary, District of Columbia, and independent agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2006, and for other purposes.”

Pictures from the McCain/Palin Rally in Sterling Heights, Michigan « Republican Ranting
-
So, yesterday I went down to Sterling Heights to the McCain/Palin rally, and was able to get a few pictures. I was about 15 rows back, so I was a little bit too far away to actually get to shake anybody’s hand.
