I was watching the news earlier today, and Glenn Beck’s show on FOX News came on. He was talking about the latest figures coming out of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, specifically the figures on the monetary base.

This is news that just broke a little while ago: Mark Felt, the number 2 FBI official during the Watergate scandal, also known as the informant “Deep Throat” died on Thursday at 12:45 P.M. at a hospice facility near his home, according to his daughter Joan. Joan told reporters that he “was fine this morning [and was] joking with his caregiver.” He then ate breakfast and took a nap, saying he was tired. He then died in his sleep. “He slipped away,” she said.

I’ve just received a report that Timothy Geithner will be nominated for Secretary of Treasury. Geithner is the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York as well as the Vice Chairman of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC).

I’ve seen some pretty weird Halloween decorations before, but this one probably tops them all. In West Hollywood, California, Chad Michael Morisette has put up an effigy of Sarah Palin hanging by a noose with John McCain up on the chimeny with flames coming out of it (as well as skeletons and spider webs on other areas of the house).

Well, as of this afternoon, it’s official: the 2 mortgage giants, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, will be placed in conservatorship under the supervision of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA). Under this plan, the federal government will temporarily run Fannie and Freddie until the 2 companies become more stable.

Breaking news that just came in. The Federal Aviation Administration’s flight plan system for the Eastern part of the country, based in Atlanta Georgia has faled. The FAA is saying that control towers can still see all airplanes and that there is no reason for immediate concern - there is no risk in planes crossing paths or anything like that; however, delays are popping up all along the airports in the Eastern part of the country.

This is breaking news - I just heard about it from the CM-Life.
Isabella County Prosecutor Larry Burdick has said that he will not be pressing charges against the 28-year-old male engineering student who hung a noose in the Industrial Educational Technology Building back in November. Well, today hasn’t been a good day for New York Governor Eliot Spitzer (Democrat). He’s just made a speech apologizing and not saying much else about 20 minutes ago, after allegations that he was connected to a prostitution ring, Emporers Club VIP, came out today. He was caught on a federal wiretap that was trying to bust a prostitution ring.
