Ron Paul Endorses Chuck Baldwin (Constitution Party Candidate) for President « Republican Ranting

  • OK, back on September 10th, I had meant to post Ron Paul’s “endorsement” speech, but some crazy things happened in my life and I didn’t get to it. Well, none of that really matters now. The basics of his speech there (which I have just below) were that he’s endorsing all of the 3rd party candidates - basically don’t vote for McCain or Obama.

Ron Paul Will Be on the Ballot for President in Montana « Republican Ranting

  • The Constitution Party of Montana, which broke off from the national party back in 2006, decided not to stick with the national party’s nominee (Chuck Baldwin for President/Darrell Castle for VP), but rather nominate Ron Paul for President, and 2000 Constitution Party nominee, Michael Perutka, for Vice President.

  • OK, so the title was a little cheesy. Anyway, this is my next segement in my series on the Race for Michigan’s 9th Congressional District. Dr. Jack “Death” Kevorkian had a town hall-type meeting with about 35 people in Birmingham last week.

Montana, South Dakota, and New Mexico June 3rd Primary Predictions: Clinton, Obama, and McCain to Win « Republican Ranting

  • First, I’d like to apologize to the Idaho Republicans. While in the midst of a house crisis, I completely forgot about your primary, and for that, I am sorry. Yours was the only primary/caucus that I did not post a prediction for.
Now, on to the June 3rd primaries…

Clinton to Obama: Screw You! I’m Taking This to Convention « Republican Ranting

  • In an interview with the Associated Press today in Florida, Clinton told reporters, “Yes I will [support Michigan and Florida if they appeal an unfavorable rules committee decision to the convention floor]. I will, because I feel very strongly about this. I will consult with Floridians and the voters in Michigan because it’s really their voices that are being ignored and their votes that are being discounted, and I’ll support whatever the elected officials and the voters in those two states want to do. … It [the race] could [go beyond June 3rd], I hope it doesn’t.

In a Surprise Move, John Edwards Endorses Barack Obama « Republican Ranting

  • Well, I figured that Edwards was going to stay out of this so that he didn’t influence the delegates (so that his delegates wouldn’t go over to Clinton or Obama just because he endorsed one or the other), but apparently Obama is far ahead enough that Edwards figures that Obama is 100% guaranteed to get it. And Obama essentially is. At this point, he could kill kittens on live TV and still pull off a win.

Michigan’s Top House Race: Gary Peters vs. Joe Knollenberg (vs. Quacky Dr. Jack Kevorkian) « Republican Ranting

  • I would first like to thank Nick for allowing me the opportunity to cover stories on the race for Michigan’s 9th District for his site.
First, what exactly is Michigan’s 9th District?
It’s Oakland, Bloomfield, Southfield, and West Bloomfield townships; parts of Orion and Waterford townships; the cities of Farmington, Farmington Hills, Orchard Lake, Keego Harbor, Sylvan Lake, Pontiac, Auburn Hills

Obama Wants a System “that doesn’t allow third parties to overwhelm the system” « Republican Ranting

  • Wow - so I was reading a news story about McCain and/or Obama taking public financing (which I did a blog post on, available here: http://inkslwc.wordpress.com/2008/04/11/obama-reconsidering-taking-public-financing-and-its-85-million-spending-limit-pledge), and I came accross this statement by Barack Obama to reporters earlier today:

Lieberman Campaign Crashed Own Site; Blamed His Opponent « Republican Ranting

  • So, I don’t know how many of you remember the 2006 election campaign cycle events (I do - I always said that Lieberman would lose his primary and win as an Independent. I said it at the very start of 2006 and got laughed at, and look what happened). Anyway, Joe Liberman and his campaign made statements that implied that joe2006.com

Barack Obama: Children Lack a “Hunger to Learn” and Parents Must “Turn off the Television” and “Video Games” « Republican Ranting

  • While talking at a forum in a hall in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Obama told parents that “we’re not instilling the hunger to learn.” He mad the point that “it’s not all about money,” saying that children in China are going to school in dilapidated buildings, with outdated text books but they’re performing well because “they are hungry.”

Murderous 3rd Graders, Bullies, and Punishing Minors « Republican Ranting

  • So, I’m writing this post as somewhat of a follow up to my post about the 9 3rd graders who plotted to injure/kill their teacher. After I wrote the post, Observations by the Bay wrote a comment, where he asked how I felt about this story, where a kid was consistently bullied in middle and high school. He said, “Should these boys assaulting Eric Wolfe be given the death penalty as well,”

3rd Graders Plot to Harm Teacher; Can’t Be Charged With a Crime « Republican Ranting

  • So I was just watching FOX News, and apparently in Waycross, Georgia, there were 9 3rdgraders who plotted to kill their teacher. The 8- and 9-year-olds from Center Elementary School plotted to kill their male teacher because he yelled at a girl for standing on her chair.
The plot was discovered when another girl saw a steak knife in a girl’s backpack and told teachers.

  • OK, so on March 11th, 2008, Mike Gravel (D, turned Libertarian?-AK) issued a statement endorsing Jesse Johnson (Green Party-WV). Here’s a press release from Johnson’s campaign:

“Doctor Death” is Running for Congress in Michigan « Republican Ranting

  • What do a felonious & murderous doctor, a former Lottery Commissioner turned (controversial) professor, a dude with a really big head, a Congressman, and a kid with a video camera accused of being “Virginia Tech dangerous” have in common? They’re all involved in the election for the 9th Congressional District of Michigan. This race just keeps getting wackier, so I’ll list the basics:

Ron Paul Confirms that He Won’t Run as a 3rd Party Candidate « Republican Ranting

  • He just said it on FOX News - he has not entertained the thought, and does not planning on running as a 3rd party candidate. He said that that would “not help the situation.” I’m hoping a video might get posted somewhere - but it literally just happened. I knew he wouldn’t do it - he IS a Republican at heart. Libertarian-leaning - yes, but he’s at least keeping the party together.

Official: Michael Bloomberg Is Not Running For President « Republican Ranting

  • Today, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced in a New York Times Op-Ed that he will not run for President (although the story got leaked when he wrote the article yesterday).
Here is an excerpt from “I’m Not Running for President, but …“:
I believe that an independent approach to these issues is essential to governing our nation — and that an independent can win the presidency. I listened carefully to those who encouraged me to run, but I am not — and will not be — a candidate for president. I have watched this campaign unfold, and I am hopeful that the current campaigns can rise to the challenge by offering truly independent leadership.
