Scratch is designed to help young people (ages 8 and up) develop 21st century learning skills. As they create Scratch projects, young people learn important mathematical and computational ideas, while also gaining a deeper understanding of the process of design.

  • 哈佛本科无所谓严格意义的具体专业，只有一个“concentration”（集中领域）。大概有40个左右的concentration可供选择，都是比较宽泛的学科领域：经济学、历史学、化学、生物学、人类学、社会学、音乐、哲学、文学、数学、计算机等，没有更具体的专业划分。每个concentration都设计好了必修课程，如导论课程和更进阶的课程，帮助学生认识一个领域。每个学生必须选择一个concentration，作为自己的学科方向。学生也可以选择一个主concentration和一个辅concentration；选择联合concentration（类似双学位的设置）。如果学生对这些concentration不满，甚至可以依照自己的喜好设置concentration，但需经学校方批准。大一阶段，学生会有时间探索、寻找自己的concentration，在大二时正式确定。但选择后也可以更换，甚至到大三阶段还可以更换。
