Flickr: GeoTagging Flickr


  • Perhaps a different work flow would be in order. I first geotag using Google Earth incorporating Tilt, Heading and Range, then when I've done a few I use the Flickr Map Import script linked to on my Account page. That way I have the accuracy and extra details of Google Earth and the convenience of Flickr Maps for people without Google Earth plus easily editable geotags.



    My one gripe at the moment is that the Import button queues and searches all your photos looking for geotags and then imports them whereas it would be more convenient and quicker to select the photos you want to import, but, I believe that will come.

    The geoFlock Extension lets you create and save a topbar map using the addresses or address links you find on web pages, including manuualy adding locations. You can also Geotag Flick photos within the Flock photo uploader, geotag blog posts within the blog editor (including microformat geo class values and view in google maps / google earth links). There is a great deal of additional functionality which is hard to sum up, such as support for Google Earth, Platial.com, getting directions; loc.alize.us, all of these are overviewed below and described in the instructions.
