Economic Report on Africa 2009
UN's Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and its annual Economic Report. Besides the 2009 edition, there is an archive dating back to 2002. The emphasis in this report is on Africa as an agricultural economy. However the UNECA site can also give some insight into industrial sectors, with for example the report "Energy for Sustainable Development: Policy Options for Africa". It also supports the development of ICT in Africa as part of the African Information Society Initiative, an explicit part of its mission being "to speed the continent's entry into the information and knowledge global economy".

The section Countries can be searched both regionally and by single country. In either case, this is a good way to find both quick facts about a country and a collection of more detailed reports. Attention should also be paid to Knowledge and its Key Documents section, which among other items includes the Africa Competitiveness Report and selected statistics on African countries.
