I wonder if changes at the top of the USPTO might help my industry with the ridiculous 102b situation (sorry, Plant Patent law geekery!). We shall have to wait, but I suspect it will depend on the new head of the office and their attitude to overseas pate

Cold water kills hurricanes, apparently. So, all you need is to get cold water to the surface across the western Atlantic and the Caribbean during hurricane season and you'd have no hurricanes. Of course, you'd probably cause mayhem to the global weather

About bloomin' time! Mind you, it will take the member states another age to agree the details. This is a more complex issue than PVR, but the Community PVR system has now been active and in place for nearly 15 years, so patent has a long way to catch up.

Hmm. Could make a few pennies on the side with this wheeze. Equally, I need to watch a few patents that I'm responsible for, although I'm a few years off expiry yet.

Patents in Europe cost 10 times more than patents in the US. That can't be right. But that is one of the inherent problems with a union of 27 nations with 21 official languages - if you only speak Greek, surely you deserve equal access to patent records?
