This surprises me not-at-all. I deal with a couple of EU bodies and hardly ever meet an English person. Also, because the UK has rarely (if ever) submitted a bid to host an EU agency office, the situation is compounded. All this does nothing for the British view of the EU, IMHO.
Apparently, I coined the term "blogaversary" way back in September 2001 and may even have spelled it incorrectly in so doing. Sorry.
Good advice on how to learn a language as an adult, something I keep threatening to tackle (but when? when??).
Hmm. I'm not sure about this article - it concentrates rather too much on the francophones resident in Flanders and not the reverse scenario. Seems to portray the Flemish as a bunch of xenophobes, which isn't my experience.
Hmm. Not sure how mum would get on with an iPod, but this is what the nurse recommends. We can organise a trial for her, so it'll be a case of suck it and see.
