This surprises me not-at-all. I deal with a couple of EU bodies and hardly ever meet an English person. Also, because the UK has rarely (if ever) submitted a bid to host an EU agency office, the situation is compounded. All this does nothing for the British view of the EU, IMHO.
This document hasn't received a huge amount of coverage in the UK media, but it actually contains an awful lot that is important. It might just be that those who would like the UK to have "ever closer" ties to the US may find that aim is best achieved via
Single portal for access to all areas of the European Union, both Parliament and Commission.
Nine new nations join the Schengen area, bringing the total to 24 countries. I hate being semi-detached from Europe - it's just one of the reasons why we considered moving to the Netherlands.

Online shop for all kinds of government and official publications (including EU publications).
Everything you needed to know about VAT in the EU in one handy place.
Did you know that the EHIC (the fancy plastic replacement for the old E-111) expires after a short period of time? No? Perhaps you ought to check the date on that card in your wallet (or the bottom of the drawer with the passports - wherever you keep it).
Potentially useful book for work - goes a bit further than just PVR and includes market perspective. Of course, whether I'd learn much new...
