Bug 12579 – A note added to Hub by Chandler Quick Entry gadget, added to calendar and rescheduled in Hub, alarmed, is missing from calendar in iCal

Bug 12459 - A note (represented as a To Do Item in Apple iCal 3) added to a calendar in Chandler fails to appear in the calendar in iCal
- Bugs 12459 and 12579 concern notes that originate on Chandler Hub. - grahamperrin on 2009-01-11
-
For users of iCal who have refreshing CalDAV communication with Chandler Hub: notes that are added to the calendar (in Chandler) will almost certainly fail to appear in the calendar (in iCal).
Any calendar that fails to show events is a major interop issue.
Resolution/workaround may require attention from Apple. I do not assume a bug in Chandler Hub/Server alone.
It should be interesting to compare with another CalDAV client that supports VTODO (Google Calendar does not). - grahamperrin on 2009-01-11 -

Bug 12460 – An event added in Chandler, then removed from calendar (remaining as a note) persists as an event in Apple iCal 3
-
Bugs 12459 and 12579 concern notes that originate on Chandler Hub.
This bug 12460 concerns events that originate on Chandler Hub. Here, too, there is an interop issue with Apple iCal but the risk of incidence should less; removing a note from the calendar (conversion of an event to a To Do Item) is probably a less common workflow. - grahamperrin on 2009-01-11

Integrating Sync Services into Your Application
- Referred from Take Control of Syncing Data in Leopard (PDF) 1.0. - grahamperrin on 2009-08-31
-
Sync Services provides a powerful and extensible mechanism that enables
data to move seamlessly between multiple Macs, devices such as mobiles
phones and PDAs, and network services. This ability has long been a part
of Mac OS X , through iSync and .Mac, which could manage contacts,
calendar items, and bookmarks. Now in Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger, any Mac OS X application
can tap into this functionality to sync any kind of data reliably,
frequently, and easily.

- This article and its comments helped me to learn about some new products. FWIW our next step (for a colleague who uses Windows Mobile 5) will be towards ScheduleWorld (which is not mentioned here). Looking ahead, Apple iCal Server (in Mac OS X Server 10.5, Leopard) should be a dream come true :-) - grahamperrin on 2006-12-02
