Pinstripe Alley :: A New York Yankees Blog
-
Yesterday's baseball marathon just reinforced something I have been thinking the last week or so. We should flip Jonny Damon and Bobby Abreu in the lineup.
Abreu is one of the most complete players in the MLB and has been a Yankees pickup along the lines of David Justice or David Cone in seasons past. But, for whatever reason, last year's home run derby champ is not hitting many dingers anymore.
Meanwhile Damon is on a power tear. His two yesterday, one in each game, gave him 20 for the season. His triple to lead off the first game, which almost reached the wall in center field (420 ft.), would have also been a home run in Yankee Stadium (408 ft.).
