Monitoring and Predicting Agricultural Drought
2005 book on agricultural drought. This would be good to read cover to cover. Edited volume.
This may only be acessible through my CIAT campus computer
Rainforest canopy-penetrating technology gets boost for forest carbon monitoring
This group used this technology in the Amazon. But I am not sure that it is really anything new. Just bring lots of computing power to Landsat analysis
Impact of land cover uncertainties on estimates of biospheric carbon fluxes
article on errors and sensitivities of land cover maps and how they affect carbon studies
Real-time Satellites in Google Earth
Very cool KML showing the real time position of satellites....great for a remote sensing class
CBERS - Satélite Sino-Brasileiro de Recursos Terrestres
This site has quite a bit of information about the CBERS satellite.
USGS Landsat Project
this site has information about correcting the banding problem in Landsat 7 imagery
Acquiring Landsat data
This site could be used for a class in remote sensing. It has instructions for ordering landsat data...
Satellite Data Can Warn of Famine
This is a piece on Molly Brown's (NASA) work. I have the draft paper. I think drawing out the relationship between vegetation vigor and food prices is still a shaky proposition. But this is cool research.
Plant Pathologists Can Detect Soybean Rust by Satellite
looks interesting......but at 1 meter resolution only practical for a very small areas. perhaps it could be used in a sampling framework over larger areas....
Mapping of flood dynamics and spatial distribution of vegetation in the Amazon floodplain using multit
This could have some content that might be relevant for the Peruvian Amazon....
NASA: Biospheric Sciences Branch - Code 614.4
This is Molly Brown's web site at NASA. She does some cool stuff on remote sensing, food security and participatory research. Check our her publications. [Also see article on Senegal]
A whole new way to look at the world / Satellite imagery turns globe into a computer peep show
good overview on the Google Earth phenomenon....
Studying The Amazon Rainforest Through Satellite Imagery
Un imagen super interesante que muestra como los hojas quedan verdes a pesar de la falta de lluvia....
Littered Skies
Very nice interactive graphic showing how space has become littered with man-made objects

GeoBrain will mobilize NASA EOS data and information through Web service and knowledge management technologies for higher-education teaching and research. The technologies, based on geo-object and geo-tree concepts, will be implemented in a standards-compliant, open, distributed, three-tier web information system. The system will make petabytes of NASA EOS data and information, especially those in the ECS data pools, as easily accessible as their local resources, to higher-education users, both professors and students
Global Land Remote Sensing Web Page
Very nice page with lots of data products from MODIS and other sensors....
