Aza’s Thoughts » Ubiquity Tutorial: How to turn a page upside-down

In Firefox 3.1 it has become possible to do even more amazing things with CSS. Anything can be rotated, skewed, and translated with just a single line of CSS code. With Ubiquity we can use that power for good, evil, and other. This tutorial demonstrates how, with five-ish lines of code, you can create functionality — both commands and extensions — that are “other”. Perhaps tending a little bit towards evil. Watch the video to find out what unpractical joke we’ve got cooking.

Standards for Life by Natalie Jost » Override Inline Styles from the Stylesheet

You read that right. I said override inline styles, and no, I have not been drinking. For the longest time it has bugged me that there was no way to override what someone else had done with inline styles. I understand they’re supposed to be the override, and I get why, to a certain extent, but I also think there should be an override to certain overrides when those overrides are abused. Make sense?

0x000000 # The Hacker Webzine

While working on my new ActiveX fuzzer I needed a break and wrote another html/css fuzzer called fuzzy overdrive. It's a basic concept tool born out of boredom that generates all sorts of HTML and CSS intended to trigger a crashed browser in order to locate vulnerabilities or just bugs in markup parsing. I know that fuzzing is like playing the slots, but it is still fun to write and use it. Anyway, I thought maybe you like to play with this toy too. I had it running a couple of times, and at some point Firefox crashed while viewing the source window that became very unstable. The joy of fuzzing.

About the indirect adjacent combinator (~) in CSS

CSS Indirect Adjacent CombinatorSimilar to the CSS Adjacent Sibling Combinator that I wrote about before, the indirect adjacent combinator is pretty nifty and supported by IE7+, FF2+, Opera 9.5+, Safari 3+, and even Konqueror. It is actually part of the CSS3 spec but it’s surprisingly well supported. Here’s how to use it and what it does:
