I have to say, I love Chris de Burgh pre-Lady in Red (and most of the rest of the album from which that came), and have only forgiven him for subsequent stuff because of the quality of his earlier work.
This letter is the work of the genius who wrote songs such as Patricia the Stripper.

My American friend Megan grew up in Texas. She was set a Geography test to learn the countries of Europe, and went through them with her Mom, an academic.
Come test result day, she failed the test, despite having labelled all the countries correctly, because she had also helpfully and correctly added USSR at the right.
She was told that No God Fearing American need know where the USSR is.
Which of course was incorrect, because Americans did need to know where USSR was, so's they could bomb the shit out of it
