Foundation Documents: Transitioning Student Computing at UVa - Labs & Software
UVA has released more detailed information on their planned elimination of public access computer labs. The biggest problem in the transition is making software available for specialty applications. (Currently this makes up about 5% of UVA lab usage.) UVA might be getting into the virtual machine environment being explored by George Mason and other Virginia universities.
