"The Republican National Committee, the GOP's fundraising and organizational arm, is facing a "cashflow challenge" and can't pay all of its bills on time.
In a memo Tuesday, RNC Chief Administrative Officer Boyd Rutherford wrote, "We will not be able to pay off the vendors this week. We will be slow in paying as we are having a cashflow challenge. Everyone will be slow paid until after the first of the year."The acknowledgment by Rutherford of the RNC's money woes comes at a bad time for the group's chairman, Michael Steele, who already faces several potential challengers for another two-year term, writes the Washington Post's Chris Cillizza. Aside from Steele's verbal gaffes, the cash-flow issue is likely to re-open the debate about his financial stewardship, the Post said."
The other point is that Steele had probably the rockiest start of any party chairman in recent memory, most notably his comment on February 28 that Rush Limbaugh's program can be "incendiary" and "ugly." If we expected Steele's brouhaha with Limbaugh to h
Many of us looked forward to Michael Steele’s leadership at the RNC after two successive national defeats as a breath of fresh air, a chance to reorganize and have a recognizable, media-savvy figure at the head of the Republican Party. After the first mo

The 168-member Republican National Committee will gather tomorrow morning to choose its next chairman and yet even those closest to this most insider of votes acknowledge they have little idea who will emerge victorious.
The deal here is that none of this language is new. Republicans have been saying these things for years. Back to the Gallup data: voters identify with the Democrats precisely because of what Republicans stood for; because of the choices their party made i
The election for RNC chairman is almost upon us. For those of you following the race, after the jump I've included the latest endorsements for the Michael Steele and Katon Dawson campaigns, along with a lengthy strategy memo from the Ken Balckwell camp:
