Today I heard about another way to relieve work related stress. Easy, just quit your job or get laid off. No more work related stress.Actually, there has been a lot of this going around recently and anyone who quits their job in this day and time had better have an oil well to sit under because jobs are scarcer than hens teeth.
Can You Say Computer Stress?
Of course everyone was rightfully stressed over the conflicker worm but the stress I’m talking about is that caused by the possibility of having contracted the worm in the past.I have a couple of different virus checking programs on various computers, some paid and some free but one never knows what each will find so sometimes it is a good idea to check each of them out.
Spring Break Stress (continued)
Can Spring Break bring any more stress? Grandma is on the way to recovery and that is good because another set of grands shows up as well. Now all twelve grandchildren are in the same city and even in the same house for dinner Thursday. Unfortunately that nite the father of the three sisters goes to the ER for vomiting and stays there while they give him a bag of fluids. He gets home around six in the morning. Nobody is feeling very well but these children are chomping at the bit, bored to tears that the adults won’t take them anywhere interesting to entertain them. We send them to their old school to bother their prior teachers (they aren’t on spring break until the following week) and look for something to do to entertain twelve children under the age of thirteen.

Stress is something we all do to ourselves mainly because we want to know why an event happened. Why doesn’t help us with the situation since it has already happened and there is nothing that knowing why can do for us.There are a lot of whys that can be asked; why did that driver run the stop sign and hit us? Slowing down doesn’t only mean internally, it also means externally as well.Uh, Oh, one way to slow down is to cut back on the caffeine. That morning cup of joe can blow little things all our of proportion. Most energy drinks are high in caffeine too so it might be a good idea to switch to yuck decaf. A majority of our stress is caused by our choices. We choose to react to various situations which can lead to stress for us. If we instead choose to determine the best route to take then we will have less stress because we aren’t being controlled by the situation.
Can a Power Nap Help Relieve Stress?
Studies have shown that a short power nap in the afternoon gives more rest than the same length of time added in the morning. This may be because the afternoon is about 8 hours after we wake up and maybe the body is built that way. Who knows why we seem to tire in the afternoon approximately 8 hours after we awake?
Where do you find unconditional love?
I was just reading about unconditional love and am reminded of one of my earlier posts about my grandchildren. Sometimes I’m not sure if their love is unconditional or not since they get to do a lot of stuff at our house they can’t at home. So maybe they enjoy being with us because of that but when a little three year old comes up and hugs you and says “I love you” out of the blue I guess that could be considered unconditional love. I don’t see any stress in that at all.
Managing Stress
Stress is a normal occurrence in our lives but that doesn’t mean it is good for us. It also doesn’t have to happen. It is possible to learn to control stress, not by eliminating the causes of stress, the pressure on you, but by changing how we react to circumstances. You still have do deal with the events but not the stress.
Can a Vacation Relieve Stress?
No, but taking one can give one the time to reflect on their life. Vacations are good. But if stress becomes severe enough to be affecting your life then you really need to get some information on managing stress. A search on the internet will expose a myriad of methods for relieving stress. The first thing I’ve found to work is to determine that I am in control, not the situation. In other words, I’m going to decide what affects my life and how it does so, not the other way round where events control my actions.
Making Lifestyle Changes to Minimize Stress
If we accept the fact that everything in the world is changing then we are really foolish to expect nothing in our lives to change. Nothing is permanent so why would we expect nothing to change in our lives and resisting change is futile. If we begin to accept change then that will be a weight lifted off our sholders.
Definition Of Stress Leads To Better Management
There are multiple methods of managing stress that happens in our lives. One is as I said, remember that there are some things we can’t do anything about and being upset because they happen isn’t going to get us anywhere so let it go.
Can Stress Ruin Your Marriage?
Better off financially because there is always some money wasted in a divorce - either to pay for attorneys or to pay for separate living quarters. To say nothing of the additional expense if there are children in the family and one of the mates chooses or has to move away to get a job to support themselves.
