"The Windows registry key...HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Security...has a string value called OutlookSecureTempFolder...and...when the VM is shutdown and restarted...this key gets defined as a folder on the vmware-host share...because My Documents has been re-mapped. Unfortunately, Outlook preview does not like this mapping to the vmware-host share for some reason.
If, after you re-start the VM and before you start Outlook...you simply change this key to a value pointing to the local VM drive...like "c:\Outlook Temp" for example...then, when you start Outlook...preview will work fine..."
