It was a few years ago when I heard that Google was measuring clickthrough rate and adding it to their algorithm. I thought at the time that it wouldn't be long before spammers would be paying people to do searches and click specific links. Well I guess you don't have to pay others to click, just tell people to Google you during the Superbowl to find your site.
