  • In 2006 the Mozilla Corporation generated 66.8 million dollars in revenue and 19.8 million in expenses, with 85% of that revenue coming from Google for "assigning [Google] as the browser's default search engine, and for click-throughs on ads placed on the ensuing search results pages."

  • IE is still losing ground to Firefox, though its lead is still unmistakable; Safari is not threatening any of its competitors, nor is it being threatened from below; Chrome is happily carving out a small niche for itself; and poor Opera can't seem to budge from fifth place. In April, Firefox and Chrome were the only browsers to show any positive growth; IE, Safari, and Opera all fell.
  • Between March and April, Internet Explorer dropped a significant 0.72 percentage points (from 66.82 percent to 66.10 percent) and Firefox jumped 0.43 percentage points (from 22.05 percent to 22.48 percent). Safari dropped a minor 0.02 percentage points (from 8.23 percent to 8.21 percent). Chrome once again moved further away from Opera: it gained 0.19 percentage points (from 1.23 percent to 1.42 percent) while Opera dropped from 0.70 percent to 0.68 percent.
