Daily News Egypt - Mobile phone ownership high among Egypt's youth, says repor

  • The study found that on average, 88 percent of Egyptian youth own at least one mobile phone. This figure was higher in Alexandria, where 92 percent of those interviewed owned at least one mobile phone. Cairo lags slightly behind Alexandria, with 84 percent of youth owning at least one handset.
  • According to a report issued by the Information Decision and Report Center, mobile phone subscriptions in Egypt reached 44.59 million this year.

إعلان استحواذ المصرية للاتصالات على ميناتل خلال أيام - بوابة الشروق

  • وكانت سوق الكروت المدفوعة مقدما شهدت رواجا فى عام 2002، عندما ارتفع عدد الكبائن فى هذا العام بنحو ٪32، إلا أنه بدأ يتراجع منذ عام 2005، مع انتشار التليفون المحمول، نتيجة انخفاض سعر دقيقة مكالمته.
  • وتعمل فى سوق كبائن الاتصالات العامة فى مصر ثلاث شركات، تستحوذ ميناتل على أكبر حصة سوقية فيها، بنسبة 57.5%، تليها رينجو بنسبة 32.9%، ثم مرحبا 9.6%، التابعة للمصرية للاتصالات. وبإتمام صفقة الاستحواذ سوف تصل مشاركة المصرية للاتصالات فى هذا القطاع إلى 67%، من خلال امتلاكها لميناتل ومرحبا.
