Daily News Egypt - Deported Chechen student missing in Moscow

  • A Chechen Al-Azhar student recently deported to Russia from Egypt has gone missing, according to the Associated Press. Human rights groups have suggested that he was detained by Russian authorities in order to put pressure on his father, a prominent Chechen separatist.  The student, Maskhud Abdullayev, was deported on June 19 after being held as part of a security crackdown by Egyptian authorities on the eve of President Barack Obama's speech at Cairo University.
  • The students claimed that they had refugee status in Azerbaijan before beginning their studies at Al-Azhar. However, their request to fly to Azerbaijan rather than Russia was denied.

  • Mr. Malover’s article is called “The Duma and Society”. By
    society is here understood, in accordance with the old Russian use of the word,
    a handful of liberal government officials, bourgeois intellectuals, bored
    rentiers and similar haughty, self-satisfied, and idle members of the public,
    who fancy themselves the salt of the earth, proudly call them selves the
    “intelligentsia”, create “public opinion”, etc., etc.
  • The Left parties are really Left, and deserve that name, only insofar as they
    express the interests and reflect the psychology, not of
    “society”, not of a bunch of whining intellectualist trash,
    but the lower strata of the people, the proletariat and a certain section of the
    petty bourgeois masses, both urban and rural. The Left parties are those whose
    audiences are never indifferent to social and political problems any
    more than a hungry man can be indifferent to the problem of a crust of
    bread. “The campaign against the Duma” of those Left parties is a
    reflection of a definite tendency among the lower strata of the people, it is
    an echo of a certain—what shall we call it?—mass irritation with the
    self-satisfied Narcissuses who are infatuated with the dung-heaps about them.

التفاصيل الكاملة لاعتقال 200 طالب أزهري من دول الاتحاد السوفييتي السابق - بوابة الشروق

  • وكان مسئول فى السفارة الروسية بالقاهرة قال أمس إن قوات الأمن المصرية ألقت القبض على نحو 200 طالب أجنبى يدرسون بجامعة الأزهر، وأوضح المسئول أن عمليات القبض تمت خلال اليومين الماضيين، وأن العدد الأكبر من الطلبة ألقى القبض عليهم أمس الأول، حيث تم اقتياد أكثر من 150 طالبا فى ذلك اليوم وحده إلى أماكن غير معلومة، وأشرف اللواء حبيب العادلى على التأكد من عدم وجود أى صلة للمعتقلين بأنشطة متطرفة.
