Excellent piece of digital storytelling from a project team at Leeds Uni. Inspired by the series of animated RSA talks this describes the journey taken by the Leeds Building Capacity Project.
I particularly like the engaging style, high production values and the video and video segments.
Click on the Show More link for a comprehensive description of how they did it. Love that they've shared this!

Another fictionalised sim of what AR could be like in the Iron Man universe.
What do you make of the matchmaking feature? An app for stalkers ;)

A BMW research project, looking at AR to guide engineers through the service process.
Who would you have more faith in, a BMW engineer that was highly trained and skilled, or one who had to wear goggles to be told what to do?
I suppose that the 2 things aren't mutually exclusive. A skilled engineer will be able to do it without reference to the AR but when faced with a new model or unfamiliar problem, the AR comes into its own.
It's a form of contextual elearning.

Tongue firmly in cheek, I feel.
Kurt Vonnegut (I had to look him up; he's way famous) explains the "pattern" of stories.

If, like me, you're one of those shy, retiring types, conferences can be daunting and exhausting experiences. I love having the opportunity to discover new stuff but the all importnat bit about making new connections doesn't come easily.
If that sounds like you then Sacha Chua from IBM has some handy tips for "shy connectors" to improve your conference productivity.

Brilliant, on so many levels. An Arthur episode that covers blogging, social networking, education technology, cyberbullying, flame wars.
Kids' satire at its best

Example of a digital story to explain a project, in this case Co-genT at teh Uni of Gloucester. Good to see a project team using this approach I think Martin Jenkins at that uni is connected to the project - he's a big proponent of storytelling).
How effective do you think this is as a story?
How does it differentiate itself from a straight screencast?
What do you think of its use of visuals?
How could it have been enhanced to improve engagement?

This feels like the beginning of something. Ingenious application of a hacked MS Kinect device to create 3D video. There's another example where he augments the video with a 3D animated monster which I'll try and track down

Example of storytelling to create an emotional response about a real world issue. Somehow, a powerpoint or something more straightforward wouldn't have been as memorable.
...and Jeremy Irons delivering his best performance since Reversal of Fortune!

A little late for the innovation module but A couple of us in the office have been transfixed by this promo film of an early Polaroid camera. Brilliant example of bringing together mechanics, chemistry, electronics and art to produce something really innovative.
We were particularly impressed by how they solved the power source issue.
Found it via James Clay's blog at http://elearningstuff.wordpress.com/2010/08/04/before-digital/
Short videos about every element on the periodic table, plus other cool experiments and chemistry stuff.\n\nDigital Storytelling in use in "hard" science
