Timestamps a downloaded Flickr image so you can use it as "strong evidence" (sic) should there be a dispute arising from a change in the license terms.

A possible alternative to the bluemountain tool which, though excellent, seems to be struggling.
Downside - no obvious filter for derivative-OK

My new favourite image search engine. I often need decent quality images that are cleared for commercial use and this seems to return much better quality images than the Flickr Creative Commons site itself.
Word of caution to self - some of the images have a share alike license which isn't possible for the materials we publish under a license at Netskills.
Mashups comparing where locals take pictures of their home city with what tourists take snaps of.
These actually look better not zoomed completely in.

I've not had a go at this yet but it looks likes it will be an interesting thing to try if you're interested in privacy and location issues.
I recently bookmarked a thing from the WSJ about what apps are sending your location data back to 3rd parties. Considering these 2 articles together, it's not just people who are using Foursqure or geolocated tweets that are publicising their whereabouts.

I'm not a daily user of Flickr (and the requirement to create a Yahho account to use it is royal pain) but I would really miss it if it went. Seems odd that Yahoo has neglected 2 of its strongest brands in Delicious and Flickr.

This looks useful. Wylio will trawl through CC archives (like FlickrCC) for images that match a search term. It then allows you to resize the image, say how iyou want it aligned to your text and then stamps it with the attribution details.
The search engine is pretty crude and you have to be quite specific about what you're after but it's a great idea for bloggers

Steve Boneham's pointed me in the direction of this useful tool.
It helps get around the problem of what happens if you download an image from Flickr under a CC license and the license subsequently changes. This way you have a record of the license correct to the time you actually downloaded it which should help if an image owner challenges your right to use it.
