With the decision to stop using Edublogs, I am left with the question of what to use instead. This isn’t just a decision for hosting of my own blog, that’s done and dusted now. The problem is that I am not sure where to point others who are looking for a blogging solution. In particular, I’ve been charged with providing blogging training after Easter for staff at my own school and will need to have something for these practical sessions

Almost like a free ideas/consultancy stand for both
teachers/management and the makers of products to come and consult.
We could run a few workshops a-la teachmeet. ie Only things that are
actually being used in the classroom right now.
On the financing side I'm sure that a lot of companies would supply
kit and sponsor the stand as they know we'll be demo-ing and

K12 Online Conference 2008 | Classroom 2.0 “Sustained Blogging in the Classroom”
Starting to use blogs in your classroom is one thing, actually embedding them into how you teach and sustaining them as a learning tool over time is something completely different. In the past 3 years, Jeff has helped numerous teachers set up blogs with their students. Some have continued to use blogs as a learning tool, others have given up not able to sustain blogging in their classroom. In this presentation we’ll look at some ways that you can successfully embed blogs into your daily routine and look at examples from teachers around the world who have made blogging part of just what they do in the classroom.

These first three tutorials are my story of how I was able to make the quantum leap from edublogs to independence! …… They will probably make anyone ‘in the know’ cringe :-)
I suppose the message is - if I can do it, then anyone can!

Venice » Welcome
This site offers visitors the opportunity to see our students’ research on this remarkable city in a format we have referred to as our online exhibit. An actual exhibit on the city of Venice is clearly impossible — one could never transport the Grand Canal or Palazzo Ducale into a museum space. But technology allows us to bring together different aspects of the city, its visual culture, and history in a format where we can discuss the great palazzi along the Grand Canal or the magnificent space in front of San Marco.
Welcome to Fredericksburg, Stafford, Spotsylvania Historical Markers
Our “Historical Marker Project” was a semester-long project. Our objective was to create a functional website containing the Fredericksburg City, Stafford County, and Spotsylvania County Historical Highway Markers of Virginia. For each marker, we provide extended research and further reference material for history enthusiasts. All in all, we researched and summed up 70 Markers in and around the Fredericksburg, Virginia area.
