[SOLVED] Installation steps of Star Team Universal Client on Mac OS X Tiger





Here are the steps ( I am on 10.4.11)

Download the soylatte java 1.6 binary for Tiger.

Download the universal client for StarTeam.

Install universal client (./setup inside bin), and give soylatte when asked for the jdk.

Now install X11 from your Mac OS X Install disc (scroll down for optional packages).

After installation, run X11 from Utilities. At X11 prompt, type export DISPLAY=localhost:0.0 (without this when you run starteam it will complain of a null DISPLAY env variable).

Now navigate to a Terminal, run ./starteam from bin folder. And bingo StarTeam comes up.

PS: Intellij is an option as mentioned above, but this is better; if you do NOT have an Idea license.
