My students have been loving Skitch so much that they have been trying to find ways to use it all the time. This past week we used it when we were working on developing descriptive words. Using descriptive words is something we have been discussing as a way to make our stories more interesting.

We think one of the best ways for students to learn is through hands-on opportunities. That’s why we love the possibilities offered by interactive projectors and whiteboards—the touch-and-drag, enlargement, and pointer capabilities have the feel of a cool video game or electronic toy. Here are some of our favorite “out of the box” ideas for learning games using an interactive whiteboard or projector

Measuring the value of social media has been a challenge for marketers. And with good reason: it’s hard to understand exactly what is happening in an environment where activity occurs both on and off your website. Since social media is often an upper funnel player in a shopper’s journey, it's not always easy to determine which social channels actually drive value for your business and which tactics are most effective.

Just change the table to be your own headings and numbers content (you may make more, or less, rows and/or columns).
Resultant table is editable. Click any cell to change its value. Then click outside the table and all other charts change dynamically.

If your students have access to a cell phone (or any digital device i.e. iPad, laptop) that can take and send/email pictures, they can make and publish their own books quickly and easily using Flickr.  This is a great way to bring student books to life by publishing them digitally in a format that can be easily shared with the world or printed as a book for the classroom or school library.

Here are some specific strategies to ponder as you select a graphic novel or comic to read, or as you consider how students might create their own. Thinking about them will help you focus your purpose in your instruction. All of them are useful, as long as the purpose is clear to the teacher and the learner.

For me, YouTube has become one of the first places I look to get a great "hook" to get my students attention at the beginning of a new unit (and throughout). When I'm in the drivers seat, I can control what my students see.  However,  more and more my students are driving and this year I am offering an online course to my students,  therefore, I have been paying a lot more attention to the content on YouTube.
