Macs come bundled with a lot of software out of the box and while most of it is at least passable, much of it lacks the feature set power users need. That's the catch with a lot of default Mac software, it's easy, but the second you want to do something more with it, you're out of luck. We've compiled a list of our favorite replacements for the usually workable, but generally boring OS X default software.
OmmWriter is a beautiful writing environment that helps you concentrate and create. It has the necessary tools you need to write and manage files, without the distracting elements that you normally find in conventional writing applications. OmmWriter opens in fullscreen mode, and has a number of backgrounds and audio tracks to increase your concentration, and to create an open space where your creativity can roam freely.
Managing windows on Mac OS X can be frustrating, requiring precision control of your mouse or trackpad for clicking, dragging, pushing and pulling your windows to the size and position you desire.
