One of the most common questions we get is, “But where do we find the time to use all this new technology?” To answer that question, we developed this infographic – A Day in the Life of a Connected Educator to show that using social media in your classroom and in your life can be integrated, easy, and fun.
Back in 2004 I was "lucky" enough to be assigned to a classroom in the renovated basement of an ancient building that had one been used as a hospital during the Civil War. The room was set-up horribly for the seminar that I was teaching on "The Future of Education.
Yesterday at the Center for Civic Media, our lunch guest was S. Craig Watkins, a professor at UT Austin working on a variety of projects under the heading of “Connected Learning”. In his blog post about the idea, Dr. Watkins defines this as:

Then again it really isn’t a matter of when these types of technological advances will become available, it’s really a matter of how soon.
How can we help young people learn to express themselves with new technologies so they can be active participants in tomorrow’s Creative Society?
If I was Alec Couros, Will Richardson, Vicki Davis, Steve Hargadon, or any of the thousands of K-12 educators that have been pushing for networked/connected learning for years (in Will’s case, more than a decade), I’d be fairly irritated to have been written out of the vision of connected learning that is now emerging from DML.
