It appears since the arrival of iPads that the PC it is no longer the cutting edge technology that it once was. My blogs aim to investigate the use of this handheld technology in primary education, in particular Spring Cottage Primary School's 'iPad journey' and look at some of the apps that can be used across the curriculum to engage, motivate and inspire children's learning in the classroom.
Here is a list of excellent books for parents, teachers and librarians to share with kids who are learning to read.
Parents believe they are more involved in their children's education than their own parents were - and that children now have more opportunities in school, suggests a survey.
Technology in classrooms isn’t necessarily good or bad — it’s how you use it that counts, an audience of educators, technology experts, parents and policy-makers heard at a conference Wednesday.
So, My Coloring Book provides some basic knowledge to your children we can say that it’s a fun coloring activity for all ages children. This game app has various bright colors to use and show off your creativity and using these verities your children will take more interest to use this. It will keep your children busy with a positive activity that fits right into the palm of their hand. We can say that now you won’t have to agonize about them crying over crayons or books that they have dropped and cannot reach.
Suppose you observe this unlikely scene: A warm-blooded six-year-old is offered a plateful of droopy steamed broccoli or a luscious chocolate cupcake, and he chooses the broccoli.
Last Sunday, I taught six kids of ages 5 to 7 how to program. “In what programming language?” you may ask. Well…I didn’t use a programming language, at least none that you know of. In fact, I didn’t even use a computer. Instead, I devised a game called “How To Train Your Robot”. Before I explain how the game works, let me tell my motivation.
Children's Books Focusing on Special/Exceptional Need
I spend a lot of time buying and testing iPad apps for kids. To be more specific, I lovingly do this for a certain two-year-old girl who is currently on a very successful #OccupyiPad mission in my house. Through extensive observational research, I’ve discovered what works and doesn’t work for my daughter, so I’m going to shamelessly generalize my findings to all children and propose four essential guidelines for developers who work on iPad apps for children.

Children with disabilities don’t need to be babied or coddled. Such actions may offend the child, as well as limit any potential they may have - despite their disabilities. Also, in most cases, these children (as students) don’t need to have their course work “dumbed” down, either.
New and more sophisticated tools are changing the way that the next generation learns to program computers. Children can now create elaborate scenes and games without the cryptic commands that were once the only way to tell computers what to do.
I compiled a list of affirmations for children recently from a wish to help mine with self-mastery and positive programming . As adults, many of our limiting thought patterns can be attributed to childhood conditioning or having unconsciously adopted negative societal beliefs. While we look for ways to help realign ourselves, how about starting with a better way forward in our children?
This really makes you think. Advertising makes the web go round but at what price. The article makes reference to US laws. It seems to me that a law is only as good as the willingness to enforce it. How does any countries laws stack up in a global society? If the heat gets turned up, how easy is it to just move to a country where the laws are more to your liking?
Clever Island teaches children the fundamental skills they need to know in order to succeed in school and in life. Children explore, interact and learn on this award winning, self contained educational website, where characters come alive and learning becomes fun.
What a terrific read. Something that all Teacher-Librarians should take a look at and bookmark.
