Just a few months ago Pinterest was the new kid on the block, but now it is firmly the number three social network in the world. Since January 1st the number of users who visit Pinterest daily has grown by 145%. This is great news for marketers as Pinterest is proving to be highly effective for converting sales and driving traffic to websites.
Social Media, while sometimes described as a time waster and blocked by some schools, is actually a great tool for education.

Several start-up companies have begun offering cloud-based platforms that combine education and social media. Companies like Teamie, based in Singapore, provide software that lets teachers create, share and manage academic content, and also let students collaborate on assignments on platforms that are similar to the “walls” used on Facebook.
Microsoft has made some significant changes to its Bing search engine that sees it finally add a social dimension through a long overdue (and deeper) integration with Facebook. This could be the start of a process that will see perhaps Hotmail and Messenger integrate more closely with Facebook.

Owing to the present difficult economic situation, financial literacy has turned out to be one of the hottest topics of discussion in the media. Being economically savvy is extremely important for making the type of smart money decisions, that’s essential for having a good standard of living.

Children are using social media. Who is teaching them?
Social media is a global phenomenon indeed. Certainly Facebook, Twitter, Google+, in their own way, each make the world a much smaller place. The distance between any two people is shrinking as the number of network connections continues to proliferate
This post has a few very short “how-to” videos to show you exactly what you need to do turn off e-mail notifications, and follow or unfollow boards or partial boards on Pinterest.
