If you spend any time around students, none of this comes as news. Given a research task, many go straight to Google and grab the first “low-hanging fruit" they find. Their inability to critically evaluate sources or context is more crucial as the barrier to the production and distribution of information has disappeared.
Just saw this resource - The CRAP Test - love the acronym because it will be a memorable way to look for what’s crap and what’s not. They provide the following questions. I wanted to note this because evaluation of content is certainly one of the topics we’ll discuss here.
