It has never been easier to connect classrooms around the world, and lots of teachers are doing it in different ways. In this course we will explore how you can turn a connection into a global learning experience for your students. We will look at ways to make this experience authentic and real, and discuss what it takes to collaborate with other classes in other countries. Ultimately our contention is that authentic global collaboration has less to do with the tools and more to do with approaches to teaching and learning.

In an increasingly complex, demanding and competitive 21st century, students need to learn more than the 3R’s they are tested on in school. It’s time to help them go “above & beyond”, by embracing the 4Cs – communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity.
To get the word out to about the “3Rs + 4Cs” approach, P21 and FableVision partnered to produce a short, animated film called Above & Beyond. Enjoy & share, so we can help ALL our students flourish in the 21st century.

Over the last few weeks, months, and years, a lot of people have had much to say about education.
The voices of students, teachers, parents, and community leaders deserve increased prominence in these conversations. Let's elevate the level of discourse. Let's talk with the people around us, and let's make an effort to talk with people who are outside our immediate circle.
Let's identify the good we want to retain, the change we want to see, and mark the steps to make it happen.
