Facilitating Online - Wikiversity
Facilitation is a rare and valuable skill to have. It is a service that is often used in conferences, debates, panels and tutorials, or simply where groups of people are meeting and need someone to help negotiate meaning and understanding, and to keep everyone engaged and on task.

This course is designed to help people to access and interpret models, research, and develop professional expertise in online facilitation. After completing this course people should be confident in facilitating online and/or be able to critique and offer advice to other people in online facilitation. The next facilitated course started 27 July 2009 and runs to 4 December 2009.
Participation in this course is free. To join that facilitated course, simply complete the tasks in the Orientation section of this page before the start date. Alternatively, you can start and finish at any time, working through the schedule at a pace that suits you. If you think you will benefit from receiving focused and personalised learning support, assessment services, or a certificate in recognition for completing, please consider enrolling as a formal participant. National Geographic Wildlife Filmmaker - NeverEndingSearch - Blog on School Library Journal
Using National Geographic Wildlife Filmmaker, young filmmakers drag clips, sounds, music, and captions to to the timeline area. On the right, they'll find an Animals A-Z reference tool that provides animal profiles, Fast Facts, a media gallery, and links to related critters.
Productions can be saved on the site itself and shared via email. Each saved video is assigned a nine-digit retrieval code. Kids will have to remember to keep this number in a safe place.
Intuitive, attractive, and easy as pie, this is a fine tool for elementary animal exploration and for class presentation. I can see teachers and students grouping clips to study locomotion, to examine ecosystems and habitats, to compare mammals or reptiles or amphibians. Animal-loving kids will love it for classroom and for personal investigations.
I kinda hope that the libraries of available film clips and sounds multiply and that NGS will consider adding voice recording and embedding features. I also wish the clips were labeled so that users could see what they were dragging prior to dragging them to the timeline.
