Fleep's Collaborative Chalkboard provides real time document collaboration in Second Life!
One of the most frustrating aspects of Second Life is the inability to quickly and easily collaborate with others on text based documents. Sure, you can trade notecards, but not everyone can see the same notecard at once, and the edit process is clunky and clumsy.
With Fleep's Collaborative Chalkboard, users can press play on their media setting controls to see what has been written on the chalkboard. To write or add content, click the chalkboard to launch the document in your web browser and begin editing the document - or multiple users can edit at once!
The chalkboard uses the free EtherPad service available at http://etherpad.com.
To use the chalkboard as a prop or decoration, an included full permissions blank chalkboard texture is also included in the package.

Unit of work for Second Classroom Project. Students undertake a PBL task using Skoolaborate (http://www.skoolaborate.com) as thier presentation tool. Uses Group Ning for journal and student blog, Group FlickR to document progress. Project could also work using Google Sketch Up and Voice Thread. Final project solutions will be rezzed in Second Life on the Island of Jokadia for external viewing by PBL teachers. Time frame 6 weeks.
