The Obama Administration has now actually co-sponsored an anti-free speech resolution at the United Nations. Approved by the U.N. Human Rights Council last Friday, the resolution, cosponsored by the U.S. and Egypt, calls on states to condemn and criminalize “any advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence.”

For starters, Obama supports the ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, a treaty that would have disastrous consequences for the American family. This treaty would be, according to our Constitution, part of the Supreme law of the land. And in the U.S. international treaties override state law.
The Committee on the Rights of the Child is the official UN tribunal granted the authority to interpret and enforce the Children's Convention, which sets forth an exhaustive index of children's rights, many at odds with the rights of parents. The tribunal has held, for instance, that the United Kingdom violated children's rights in Wales by allowing parents to withdraw their children from public school programs without first considering the child's wishes.

Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) is a treaty that is extremely damaging to parental rights and the family structure, as well as our national sovereignty. The CRC was signed by President Bill Clinton in 1995, but opposition by members of the Senate kept the treaty from being ratified. Legislators found that it was incompatible with the rights of the parents to raise their children. But new Democrat majorities in Congress and a new administration in the White House make ratification of the CRC far more likely. President-elect Barack Obama has already expressed his support of the CRC and has said, “It is embarrassing to find ourselves in the company of Somalia,” the only other UN nation not to ratify the CRC. If our government were to ratify the CRC, the UN would undermine parental authority through government control of our children.

The solution, as you saw, is the consensus process, also called conflict resolution, Hegelian dialectics, and the Delphi Technique. To unify people who embrace opposing values, the public must be engaged in "participatory" dialogues. Led by trained facilitators, these dialogues produce the collective thinking which prods participants beyond the old truths into the ambiguous realm of imagination and evolving truths.
The ground rules demand that everyone participate and find "common ground." They forbid dissent and argument, no matter how unsound the "scientific" evidence used to back the preplanned consensus. "Adversarial processes" must be replaced with "collaborative approaches to resolving conflicts" through "education, information and communications" until "people, bonded by a shared purpose"15 learn to comply.
It's already happening across America. Young and old are being trained to blend their values, adapt their beliefs, think as a group, and conform to the new standards. Like other nations, America is following the Pied Piper into a new world order whose architects may sound wise and compassionate, but are neither rational, factual, honest or tolerant.

On Jan. 23, the Canadian foreign minister made the clear statement of principle that "Canada will not participate in the 2009 conference." A week later, 27 senators sent a letter to Rice asking her to do the same. Having had no response, on Feb. 13 during a Senate hearing, Sen. Norm Coleman asked Rice point-blank, would she make the same statement and refuse to "provide credibility to this process by participating?" Rice answered: "No, we've not made that statement. ... We have not tried to make a final decision on this."
The inability of Rice to recognize this Trojan Horse painted UN blue represents a shocking reversal in policy.

What we actually know is that Rice's moral cowardice has had two immediate results. French President Nicolas Sarkozy has announced that he's joining her on the fence. "[I]f ever our legitimate demands are not taken into account, we will disengage from the process." No one has a clue what his demands are, and the French voting record on Israel-bashing at the UN gives no cause for comfort. Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith took the same cue from American cowering. Australian Jewish leaders reported Monday: "The minister is maintaining a wait-and-see approach." He told them to "keep in touch."
The stakes for failing to take a stand go beyond anti-Semitism. The agenda of Durban II was set in August, and as the Organization of the Islamic Conference made clear, it will "spotlight" wild accusations of Palestinian victimhood, whip up more hate over cartoon images, squash freedom of expression and undermine the battle to end terrorism. With the Durban II executive planning committee having a Libyan chair, Cuban rapporteur and Iranian vice chair, we could have said we are no longer prepared to play a mug's game on UN turf.
Instead, Rice made a disgraceful run for the hills. Let's ask the presidential candidates whether, come 2009, they also plan to cede American moral and political authority to the UN and participate in Durban II.
