The Trouble with Textbooks: Distorting History and Religion
Textbooks around the world are blatantly used as tools for propaganda. It is shocking to discover that history and geography textbooks widely used in America's elementary and secondary classrooms contain some of the very same inaccuracies about Christianity, Judaism, and the Middle East as those in Iran.
Assessing how textbooks treat these topics provides telling insight into how textbooks approach complex subjects. What do students learn about Jews, Jewish history, and Judaism's relationship to Christianity? How does the ongoing challenging relationship between Jews and Muslims in the Middle East show up in the textbooks? What about the triangulation between Jews, Christians, and Muslims?
The 500 problematic passages about Judaism, Christianity, Islam and the Middle East uncovered in the analysis of the 28 most widely used textbooks in public schools should evoke considerable concern on the part of Americans. History and religion are being distorted in schools in every one of the 50 states.
American Thinker: Another Barack in the Wall
"Barack" states that "no matter where he [Obama] was, the world was his home. And who he was could be summed up in one word: lovable." "Barack" does not tell its little readers that "lovable" Obama voted against state legislation that would have protected newborn infants who had survived abortions from being left to die without food, water and medical care, and then lied about his reasons for doing so. The legislation was adopted at the federal level and finally in Illinois after Obama left the state legislature in 2004. The legislation was called the Born Alive Infant Protection Act and resulted from heroic work by Chicago nurse Jill Stanek who helped to publicize this barbaric practice and the need to get it outlawed.
"Barack" does not tell its little readers that on December 21, 1997 "lovable" Obama wrote a short review in the Chicago Tribune of William Ayers' book "A Kind and Just Parent: The Children of Juvenile Court", which had recently been published. Ayers is an unrepentant domestic terrorist who participated in the bombings of New York City Police Headquarters in 1970, of the Capitol building in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972. Stanley Kurtz reported on September 23, 2008 in "Obama's Challenge" in National Review Online, and in "Obama and Ayers Pushed Radicalism on Schools" in the Wall Street Journal, that Ayers and Obama worked together for several years funding anti-American educational programs.

“Another question needs to be raised about this, as well. Where is the national media to highlight this discussion? I recently wrote an essay regarding how the Council of Europe, in close cooperation with the European Union, the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), the Arab League and other Islamic organizations, are working to combat "Islamophobia" in Europe by all means necessary. Now the French blog Galliawatch takes a look at the CoE as well. This should be considered required reading for all those numerous people who still stubbornly dismiss Eurabia as a "conspiracy theory." This response reveals a number of increasingly popular myths that have resulted from a deliberate process by modern Muslims to “Islamize knowledge” in order to enlarge and elevate the place of Islam in history. Examples of this include claims that Muslims led the fields of science and medicine during the Middle Ages; Muslims founded the first hospitals; Muslim explorers reached America before Columbus, the Crusades were an unprovoked European assault on the peace-loving Muslims of the Holy Land, etc.
These themes are now being introduced into America’s public schools by means of various curriculums, including some, published by the Council on Islamic Education in conjunction with dawa, the Muslim doctrine of introducing “non-Muslims to accept the truth of Islam.” One website, DawaNet.com reminds Muslims that “Schools are fertile grounds where the seeds of Islam can be sowed inside the hearts of non-Muslim students.”
