FIRE - Bucknell University Slams Door on Student Satires of Obama Stimulus Plan, Affirmative Action
MRC Action
growing fear that liberals in Washington were set to re-instate the “Fairness” Doctrine to silence talk radio -- the only media venue not under their complete control -- led grassroots citizens, key members of Congress and organizations like the Media Research Center to take strong and unrelenting action against such a move, forcing the Leftist Washington establishment to back away from it's reinstatement.
However, undaunted in their zeal to silence conservative opposition, liberal leaders in Washington voted on and passed “The Durbin Amendment”, which actually poses a much greater danger to our free speech rights than the “Fairness Doctrine” because it expands the FCC censorship threat in ways never imagined.

Left-Wing Talk Show Host, Desperate for Attention, Says ‘Execute Rush for Treason’ - Jeff_Emanuel’s blog - RedState
I wanted to tell you about what “liberal talk show host” Stephanie Miller said on Larry King the other night, but my ADD got the better of me as I was typing the title to this post, and I started thinking about just what a “left-wing talk show host” actually was, and wondering whether, much like the tree falling in the remote woods, if a liberal goes on talk radio to host a show, and nobody tunes in to hear it — as happens with pretty much every lefty who tries to harness that medium — did it really happen? Just some food for thought on this first Friday in March…
Unabomber: Even A Lunatic Can Spot The Obvious
When the Bolsheviks in Russia were
outsiders, they vigorously opposed censorship and the secret police,
they advocated self-determination for ethnic minorities, and so forth;
but as soon as they came into power themselves, they imposed a tighter
censorship and created a more ruthless secret police than any that had
existed under the tsars, and they oppressed ethnic minorities at least
as much as the tsars had done. In the United States, a couple of
decades ago when leftists were a minority in our universities, leftist
professors were vigorous proponents of academic freedom, but today, in
those universities where leftists have become dominant, they have
shown themselves ready to take away from everyone else’s academic
freedom. (This is “political correctness.”) The same will happen with
leftists and technology: They will use it to oppress everyone else if
they ever get it under their own control.

Add Sticky NoteIn earlier revolutions, leftists of the most power-hungry type,
repeatedly, have first cooperated with non-leftist revolutionaries, as
well as with leftists of a more libertarian inclination, and later
have double-crossed them to seize power for themselves. Robespierre
did this in the French Revolution, the Bolsheviks did it in the
Russian Revolution, the communists did it in Spain in 1938 and Castro
and his followers did it in Cuba. Given the past history of leftism,
it would be utterly foolish for non-leftist revolutionaries today to
collaborate with leftists.- Again the left and islam are in accord. taqyyia - on 2009-03-02

Add Sticky NoteBut for the leftist, leftism plays a psychological role much
like that which religion plays for some people. The leftist NEEDS to
believe in leftism; it plays a vital role in his psychological
economy. His beliefs are not easily modified by logic or facts. He has
a deep conviction that leftism is morally Right with a capital R, and
that he has not only a right but a duty to impose leftist morality on
everyone- Again, like muslims, leftists compel belief or demand submission. both castrate free will - on 2009-03-02

Pajamas Media » The Democrats’ Foul ‘Fairness Doctrine’
emember the “Fairness Doctrine”? It was the FCC mandate that required equal representation of viewpoints on the airwaves in the 1970s and 80s. If a given radio channel aired three hours of conservative talk radio, it had to balance those out with three hours of liberal talk radio. President Ronald Reagan struck this down in 1987 and the popularity that conservative talk radio has garnered since has some members of the House and Senate calling for the doctrine’s reintroduction.
I have only one question: “Would the legislators who are pushing for the reinstitution of the ‘Fairness Doctrine’ be willing to abide by it as well?”
Websites that must be banned! (brainstorm) - The Obama Forum
Alright let's get the ball rolling. We must make the internet more "Obama" friendly, there are a whole bunch of conservatard sites that criticize our president. I have been assured by Sec of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano that she will take steps to make the internet more friendly but she needs sites that should be banned. Please brainstorm here
Sincerely,
Howard Dean M.D.

Both Senate Republicans and Democrats say they're outraged at Buttars comments, which included his belief that the radical gay movement is "the greatest threat to America today."
-
"It wasn't in an official Senate meeting. It was an interview in his own home, and we still live in America, and we still have the First Amendment," Waddoups said.
He says he thinks Buttars was speaking as a citizen, but he also says Buttars is doing his job, representing his constituents.

Lesson No1 for interested onlookers is this: the claim by charter advocates that human rights are universal, immutable and absolute is demonstrable rubbish. No right, especially a vaguely expressed waffle like “freedom of religion”, is absolute. The tricky part is working out the qualifications and restrictions applicable to such broadly phrased pieties. And given that is the case, who gets to fill in the blanks?
