A big change in the way that the Reno-Tahoe region is marketed to potential visitors in northern California is on track for an autumn introduction.
Details of the campaign still are being hammered out by the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority, which is working with executives from casinos, hotels, ski areas, golf courses, transportation agencies and others that have a stake in the health of the tourism industry.

Reno rules campaign targets budget tourism
The first round of an advertising campaign designed to woo travelers from the San Francisco area to Reno generated lots of Web traffic, but it’s uncertain how much of that traffic turned into hotel bookings.
The second round of the campaign developed by the Reno/Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority in cooperation with six major hotel-casino properties started running two weeks ago in the San Francisco Chronicle and Bay Area television stations.

Why does work suck? For the same reason the billable hour and timesheets suck: they are all based on an incorrect belief about work.
Firms are struggling with work/life balance, flextime, time management, etc. But all these are a joke. Flextime is an oxymoron if you still have a schedule or “core hours.” Work/life balance is not up to firms to define, but rather their team members. Time management is, as the authors say, trying to find freedom in a prison.
