ISA- Education for Peace - A Curriculum Framework K - 12
Education for Peace is a conceptual framework from which schools may devise a program comprising the transmission of universal values and enduring attitudes, and the development of skills which will enable our students to become active global citizens. The site also includes many links to other site and projects focusing on peace.
International Day of Peace
Celebrations around the world in observance of International Peace Day on September 21, 2009. The UN program focuses on peace building rather than peace keeping or peacemaking and view peace building as creating a long term culture of peace.

Grandmother Love Project at The Peace Abbey
The Peace Abbey is collecting “Grandmother” stories (or stories from or about grandmother figures) from students and adults. The stories will be collected and bound into a book entitled Grandmother Love and along with a Lado Goudjabidze sculpture updating the picture of Obama and his grandmother, will be gifted to President Obama and his family.

The Peace Maker SiTe - Home Page
The PeaceMaker Site is a comprehensive a resource for locating, disseminating, and facilitating cooperation of interested persons and organizations working for peace and non- violent conflict resolution in all areas of life. Resources include peace making individuals, projects, organizations, and peace education programs. The site is developing a "Peace Words" pages as a collection of stories and articles on peace making and nonviolent-conflict resolution.
Human Rights Education Associates (HREA)
Human Rights Education Associates (HREA) is an international non-governmental organization offering a directory of organizations involved in human rights education, an annotated bibliography of human rights education materials that have been produced during the UN Decade for Human Rights Education, and a global directory of human rights educators. HREA is dedicated to quality education and training to promote understanding, attitudes and actions to protect human rights, and to foster the development of peaceable, free and just communities. The library (in Resources) contains over 3,000 full-text guides, curricula, textbooks and other documents including curriculum for secondary/high school and primary school grade levels.
The Elders
The Elders carry out initiative in two broad areas: promoting dialogue and peace building and supporting efforts to relieve human suffering particularly if caused by armed conflict, extreme poverty, injustice or intolerance. They emphasize the importance of the "Universal Declaration of Human Rights" in all aspects of their work. The site has good interviews and videos on their work.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
On December 10, 1948 the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Following this historic act the Assembly called upon all Member countries to publicize the text of the Declaration and "to cause it to be disseminated, displayed, read and expounded principally in schools and other educational institutions, without distinction based on the political status of countries or territories."

Workable Peace
An innovative secondary school curriculum, teaching and learning project that integrates the study of intergroup conflict and the development of crucial civic and social skills into social studies and humanities classes. The Workable Peace curriculum has three parts: a Framework, role plays set in hot spots of intergroup conflict around the world, and civic learning activities on local intergroup conflicts in the United States. The site also includes a Teacher Center and Peacemaker Profiles linking sites in the United States and around the world who are working to build communities of peace and reconciliation.
Dalai Lama Foundation - The Missing Peace
The Missing Peace Project is an art exhibition that presents art as a lens though which we see our common humanity and explore the many meaning of peace. The Foundation has developed two levels of values-oriented curriculum (middle school ages 10 to 13 and high school ages 14 to 18) to accompany the exhibition. The purpose is to provide a framework for young people to move from inspiration to engagement in the essential questions of ethics and peace.

A teaching guide including ten lesson plans on conflict resolution and restoration of justice in the aftermath of war. The Read to Peace teaches about justice on a local and international scale, asking student s to make connections between instances of justice and injustice in their own lives, and in situations where justice has been or is being threatened in other countries. Pennies for Peace
The Pennies for Peace K-12 curriculum is inspired by Greg Mortenson's book Three Cups of Tea. It provides a standards-aligned, service learning curriculum for all grade levels. It includes an implementation guide, fact sheets, printable maps, postcards, stickers & poster, and videos. The Pennies for Peace portion of the curriculum is directed to make a positive impact on a global scale, one penny at a time. While a penny is virtually worthless, in impoverished countries such as Pakistan, a penny buys a pencil and opens the door to literacy.
