Whether you have mockups, sketches, images or real webpages, you can do remote usability testing. Glad to see this market coming alive - it's been a long time coming!
Found via appsumo offer.
Interesting collection of tips, suggestions and techniques. I'm a bit bothered that some of the ideas appear to be completely untested - where's the before and after comparison of improved usability/user experience? It's not just about the look, folks.
A marketplace for brand work - not necessarily open innovation/crowdsourcing ala 99designs, but if the end result gets you what you want, does it matter?
Nice set of Persona and general UX templates for OmniGraffle.
Why re-invent? Examine a collection of existing design patterns that others have already winnowed, and steal, er, learn from working models.
Re-usable content applied to IA deliverables.
Although I understand the thinking behind using InDesign as the "design engine" behind unify, I have to say I think it really limits the collaborative nature of IA work, and unnecessarily constrains work to local only.
That said, the output is quite nice, and (relatively) easy to manage.
Flash-less, web-based application for wireframes. More options than ever in this space. Getting Enterprise designers/developers to actually use them? Priceless. (But be prepared to defend against "let's just build the full working site/app - that's the 'real test'" discussion...)
I've said it before - many different types/styles of collaboration. This is light-weight, but that's the point. Faster and easier feedback beats little to no feedback, every time.
"Protonotes are notes that you add to your prototype that allow project team members to discuss system functionality, design, and requirements directly on the prototype. You can think of it like a discussion board/wiki in direct context of your prototype. "
Rather large collection of printable wire-framing and sketching resources.
Create what LOOKS like paper prototypes. Interesting integration into various wiki platforms as a way to connect documentation code and the prototypes supporting them.
Having a variety of options available for prototyping is always a worthy idea.
"This is a set of shapes for making wireframes (low-fidelity web page schematics) in OmniGraffle version 5.x (Mac OS X). It consists of most of the basic elements you'll need to create user interface specifications. The screenshots below show different stencils in this set."
Fairly ancient post (2005), but still as relevant today as it ever was. Makes the case for permalinks that are MEANINGFUL, for search bots as well as for people.
Image-editing via SaaS. Exploring the full possibilities of going "all in" for SaaS, hosted, or cloud options. Found this to be a bit buggy, but then again, I have 70 tabs open in Firefox.
Stumbled onto this solution today - so much of collaboration is about providing a generic "knowledge worker" environment, but there can easily be a need for a more specialized environement. ProtoShare is a website wireframing and prototyping tool, wrapped
Considering moving to WordPress, this plugin looks handy. Much more control over formatting over content coming from delicious bookmarks. Anyone recommend this? (or an alternative?)
I don't code all that much any more, but to scratch that itch - here are some recommended resources for Ruby on Rails. Anyone doing Rails in the Enterprise? Get in touch.
Nice collection of 100 Web-based Apps, largely Web 2.0 style, but not strictly.
Christina Wodtke is at work on this venture - looks interesting, come back to this and take a deeper look.
Nice collection of screenshots of "inspirational" web designs
