Based on a traditional technique where quartz is embeded in white plaster, the transparent glass bottles were crushed and added to the white cement surface.
mos
MOS is an interdisciplinary practice focusing on architecture and design through research and the production of multivalent architectural objects. The work engages issues ranging from typology, digital methodologies, the physical context of structure, fabrication, materiality, tactility, and use; to the larger networks of social, cultural, and environmental. This process of radical inclusion and experimentation allows MOS to participate in design at a multiplicity of scales.
MATSYS
Established in 2004 by Andrew Kudless, Matsys is an architectural design studio that explores the emergent relationships between architecture, engineering, biology, and computation. Based on the idea that architecture can be understood as a material body with its own intrinsic and extrinsic forces relating to form, growth, and behavior, the studio investigates methodologies of performative integration through geometric and material differentiation. The studio’s work ranges from speculative and built projects to the crafting of new tools which facilitate an interdisciplinary approach to the design and fabrication of architecture.
Tesselion : Adaptive Quadrilateral Flat Panelization
Tesselion is a project by Skylar Tibbits which proposes a system of flat panel tessellation derived from complex surfaces to enable ease in constructability and a directly evolved spatial environment through lighting, programmatic adaptation and structural simplicity. Each panel’s uniqueness is afforded by the efficiency of digital fabrication while coded parametric relationships allow an emergent structural efficiency, from a single panel to the complete adaptability of the surface as a whole.

Lúcio Santos graduated from the Architectural Association Design Research Lab [DRL] post-graduate program in 2005 receiving a Master of Architecture and Urbanism, and the New Jersey School of Architecture [NJIT] in 2003 where he received a Bachelor of Architecture degree.
