This article talks about the swine flu in China and its impact on garlic. With this article I can use the supply and demand diagram to illustrate the shortages leading to garlic. I can also use externality diagrams to show the impact swine flu had on garlic and the impact that the shortage of garlic had on the people in China.

The author, Gregory Mankiw, believes that a lot of government spending is not the answer, and that their may be ”ample reasons to doubt whether this is what the economy needs.” Mankiw believes that tax cuts will help the economy more than government spending will.
